Top quality canine care

Welcome to Carols Canine Caring Ltd in Bursledon. We offer top quality Doggie Day Services and Doggie Boarding services.

We are situated on the sunny south coast between Southampton and Portsmouth. We are easy to find and we are close to the A27 at Bursledon and Junction 8 of the M27.

Founded in 2008, we are specialists offering a high quality service in a secure environment and we are passionate about dogs and the doggy holiday home we have created.

Puppy talk: “In addition to our paddocks, we now have an outside undercover play area to run around in. So, no matter what the weather is doing, we can have fresh air and frolics while staying dry.”

At Carols Canine Caring Ltd, we offer your dog spacious, comfortable, clean accommodation, lots of love and affection, plus all the creature comforts he or she would normally get at home with you. The accommodation is spacious with a choice of beds, settees or crates depending on what makes your dog feel most at home. All dogs are tagged during their stay for reassurance and peace of mind, and we take them for walks to the beach, in the woodlands and parks within a 5-mile radius.

Puppy talk: “We love our walks, and we know we’re safe while getting our exercise and sniffing around – there are so many exciting smells!”

At Carols Canine Caring Ltd, we are very flexible, and we can arrange the care according to different time periods and circumstances – anything from hours to weeks, holidays, hospital stays, family/work commitments, weekends away, you name it. We can even collect and return!

We run a puppy pre-school, and socialising for the not so young. We take the dogs to the hydrotherapy pool for fun swimming sessions, and we also deliver them to the groomers (and pick them up again), so they can be pampered on their holiday while you are on yours.

All staff members have taken pet first aid. They are CPR trained, DBS checked, and are continually updating their training every quarter.

Puppy talk: “Carol has some lovely beds. Some of us like to bring our own. In our doggy lounge we have TV and music so it is never lonely. It’s a home from home!”

A message from Carol

As a dog lover and owner myself, I do understand and appreciate how difficult it is to choose your sitter and accommodation for your dog, who to you, if anything like me, is a very important member of your family. Whether the arrangement is a one-off or a regular one, a few hours or a couple of weeks, you want peace of mind that your dog will be in the best hands – next to yours of course!

I will tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a dog owner all my life (too many years to mention). Life just isn’t life without them running about. Sadly I lost a terrier and had a spell of about a year without a dog (the longest time I have ever been without a dog). I spent months desperately trying to decide what breed to get, when for my birthday I was surprised with the arrival of an twelve-week-old Cocker spaniel called Hunnie, whom I adore with a passion. Since then, we have been joined by Izzie, a chihuahua pup, Dollie the Pomeranian & recently we have rescued a Romanian pup who we have renamed Cissie.

However long you decide your dog is to be with me, or if you just simply want to use my dog day services, my aim is to keep them as much as possible in the usual routine they have with you, so their time apart from you will be as painless as possible!

While on their holidays they will of course get at least one walk a day with endless hours of doggy paddock fun and a few treats – but only with your blessing!

I do hope that I can be of service to you and that you will be happy to return with your dog time and time again.

I offer a pleasant, fun alternative to kennels!

Carol.

Puppy talk: “Yes, with our wagging tails and joyful little barks, we can confirm it’s true, Carol loves us to bits!”

Carol discusses her experience and her diploma

I decided at the beginning of 2010 to do a diploma in dog training. As you can imagine, I come into contact with a lot of dogs and their various problems. The course was more involved than I expected it to be, but I enjoyed it. After much time and effort I achieved a distinction!

With the aid of the diploma, years of experience and research, I feel well-equipped to deal with certain areas of training – time constraints are the reason for this being some and not all areas!

My specialities are crate training and socialising. I offer visits, tips and packages to suit you and your dog!

If you have problems, a new dog or a pup that you need guidance with, get in touch!

I have worked with many dogs along the way, watching them progress from being:

  • Fearful to confident (mums too)
  • Aggressive to playful
  • Unsocial to socialised
  • No recall to recall
  • Doggy FAQ

Q: Can my dog stay with you while on medication?

Yes, as long as we have full instructions and both parties are happy.

Q: Do my dogs have to be flea treated and wormed?
Yes and vaccinated please (including the separate kennel cough vaccine). An in-date vaccination card or copy will be kept on the dog’s file.
Q: Do you walk dogs off lead?
No, unless you have signed a consent form to say it’s OK to do so.
Q: Do you collect my Dog?
    Yes we do.
Q: Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?
You don’t need to be, we are all DBS checked and can hold a key for you.
Q: Will you have my dog if he is aggressive?
No sorry, kennels may be a better option for you.
    Q: When do I pay?
You pay 50% deposit on booking, then the remainder on arrival.
Q: Are drop off and collection times flexible?
We normally say first thing in the morning or early evening, but we can arrange to suit everyone.
Q: Are you open all year round?
    Yes we are.

Contact Carols Canine Caring Ltd in Bursledon for more details and to discuss your dog’s requirements. We look forward to hearing from you.

Q: Do I bring my own food and bedding?
Yes we do ask you to supply your own food as all dogs are very individual in this area. Bedding is entirely up to the individual. We do have spare beds here for the less fussy guest.
    Q: Are you insured?
Yes we are, we are also CRB (DBS) checked and NARDS (National Association of Registered Dog Sitters) registered.
Q: Puppy talk: "I am a puppy, is that okay?"
Aren’t you a little cutie! Yes, we do welcome puppies like you. We look after puppies from 12 weeks, and we board puppies from 6 months. You’ll be very well cared for so don’t worry!
